As a result of Bean's friends and family pleading with authorities to look into Heuermann in relation to her disappearance, the investigation was sparked.

Since Bean went missing six years ago, Heidi Kovas, a victim's friend, has been spreading the word about the case.

Kovas told the U.S. Sun that she "jawed dropped" when she saw Heuermann's victims on the news in July because she thought they bore a striking resemblance to her missing friend.

Kovas said, "All of them matched Julia, Everything. The blond hair, the green eyes, the fact she was so petite."

She said that Bean's daughter also knew right away. Kovas said to Pix11, "She knew him right away, She recognized him right away. She said that was the last person she ever saw with her mom."

Julia Ann Bean took anything with her?

Bean left behind all of her personal belongings, including her wallet, cell phone, and keys, when she mysteriously vanished. Her loved ones began to suspect that she might have been taken against her will as a result.

She said, "And also how she disappeared so suddenly ... she had $5,000 in the bank, she had money in her purse but she didn't take that with her. Her drugs were left on the table."

She said to The Sun, "She just left her home. It seems as if someone had called her and said, 'Hey, I'm outside,' and she just never came back."

The night before her daughter was scheduled to graduate from high school, Bean vanished.

The two were going to get manicures, but when Bean showed up at the salon, she was in a truck with a man who her daughter now thinks is Heuermann, according to The Sun.

She remembers him introducing himself under a different name and driving a Chevrolet Avalanche, which is the vehicle mentioned in Heuermann's case.

She said, "I have her 3 tickets [to my graduation] just in case she lost one and I gave him 2 so he could bring her, He told me he has lake houses and big boats if I ever wanted to have a boat party. He offered to take me to a concert and told me he wanted to marry my mom."

She added, "I never saw her again after that night."

According to Kovas, who spoke to the Sun, Heuermann killed her missing friend. South Carolina is home to Heuermann. He has a $154,000 acreage in Chester, South Carolina, where he intended to spend his golden years close to his brother Craig.

Neighbors informed Fox News that Heuermann's brother, Craig, frequently discussed him and his intentions to purchase additional real estate nearby.
